Inspiration
Our project was inspired by a common problem in colleges: students face issues related to classrooms, facilities, cleanliness, and other campus services, but there is often no simple and organized way to report and track them. We wanted to create a system that makes campus issue reporting easier and helps the concerned staff take action quickly.
What We Built
We built AI Campus Issue Resolver, a web-based platform where students can report campus issues and track their progress. The system helps organize reported issues and allows staff to manage and update their status.
A key focus of our project is privacy, as students can report issues without unnecessarily exposing their identity.
How We Built It
We designed the project as a full-stack web application with separate functionalities for students, staff, and administrators. We used web technologies for the user interface, backend technologies for processing and data management, and AI-based functionality to make issue handling more organized and automated.
What We Learned
While building this project, we learned how to connect AI concepts with full-stack development and how to design a solution for a real-world problem. We also learned about user roles, database management, privacy, and creating a simple user-friendly workflow.
Challenges We Faced
One of our main challenges was designing different access levels for students, staff, and administrators. We also had to think about how to organize issues, assign them to the right department, and keep the reporting process simple for students.
Integrating AI into the workflow while keeping the application practical and easy to use was another challenge.
Future Scope
We plan to improve the project with AI-based priority detection, automatic department assignment, duplicate issue detection, notifications, analytics, and multilingual support.
