About the Project

MindEase is a mental health companion app designed specifically for teenagers—especially students—facing stress, anxiety, and burnout. Inspired by the growing need for accessible emotional support, I built this digital friend to provide a safe, stigma-free space for students to check in, reflect, and recharge.

What It Does

  • Mood Logging – Log daily mood entries and view emotional trends over time.
  • AI Chat Companion – A supportive, empathetic AI chat that offers comforting responses (prototype phase).
  • Relaxation Toolkit – Guided breathing exercises, mindfulness prompts, and calming tracks to ease anxiety.
  • Student Resources – Practical tips for study planning, exam anxiety, and work-life balance.

How I Built It

I leveraged Lovable — an AI-driven prototyping platform to design an interactive UI that reflects student needs and is intuitive under pressure. The interface prioritizes clarity, calm visuals, and frictionless exploration.

Challenges & Learnings

Building for mental health taught me that simplicity is powerful. Key challenges included:

  • Balancing sophistication (AI capabilities) with usability for stressed students.
  • Crafting a design that feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely empathetic—not clinical.
  • Working within constraints: limited time led me to focus on a functional, interactive prototype before more complex features. I learned how to prototype with empathy, and how crucial accessibility and privacy are in mental health tools.

What’s Next?

  • Activate functional AI-powered mood reflections (with careful ethical safeguards).
  • Integrate a peer-support feature moderated to ensure safety.
  • Pilot with schools or youth orgs to gather feedback and build a working version.

Why It Matters

Teenage years are full of emotional ups and downs. With students increasingly facing mental health challenges, AI Calm Space offers them an empathetic, supportive companion—right in their pocket.
