AI Moderator Assistant for Student Communities

Inspiration

Online student communities are growing rapidly, but many of them struggle with toxic comments, spam, harassment, and harmful discussions. Moderating these communities manually can be time-consuming and difficult, especially for smaller groups without dedicated moderators.

I wanted to build a solution that could help create safer, healthier, and more productive digital spaces for students using AI-powered moderation and automation.

The goal of this project was to demonstrate how AI can assist communities by detecting harmful content, encouraging respectful communication, and helping moderators manage discussions more efficiently.

What It Does

The AI Moderator Assistant helps student communities by:

  • Providing moderation assistance
  • Improving online community safety
  • Supporting healthier digital communication The platform is designed with a modern and user-friendly interface so moderators and community managers can easily review and manage content.

How I Built It

This project was built primarily using MeDo’s AI-powered no-code development workflow. Using conversational prompts, I generated:

  • The application structure
  • Dashboard UI
  • Moderation interface
  • Responsive layouts
  • AI-assisted workflows
  • Business-style modern design I focused heavily on improving the user experience and visual presentation to create a polished SaaS-style application. The app was deployed publicly for testing and demonstration purposes. # Challenges I Faced One of the biggest challenges was refining the generated UI and ensuring the application looked professional and consistent across devices.

Another challenge was balancing simplicity with functionality. I wanted the platform to remain easy to use while still demonstrating meaningful AI-powered moderation features.

I also spent time improving responsiveness, navigation flow, and dashboard organization to create a smoother user experience.

What I Learned

This project taught me how powerful AI-assisted development can be for rapidly building functional applications. I learned:

  • how important UI/UX is in productivity tools
  • how AI can help solve real-world community moderation challenges

I also gained experience deploying and polishing a full-stack style application within a hackathon environment.
