Inspiration
We wanted to make programming easier for students who struggle with debugging. Our idea was to use AI to identify coding mistakes and suggest fixes, helping beginners save time and improve their coding skills.
What it does
AI Bug Fixer for Small Programs analyzes code snippets, identifies potential errors, explains coding mistakes, and suggests corrected code using AI. It aims to provide a simple debugging experience for students and beginner developers.
How we built it
We developed the user interface using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with Node.js handling backend operations. We integrated the Google Gemini API for AI-powered code analysis and used supporting technologies for code execution and data management.
Challenges we ran into
We faced challenges in connecting the frontend with the backend, integrating AI services, and generating useful error explanations. We also focused on making the platform easy to use so that beginners could understand the suggested corrections.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of bringing AI and software development together to address a common programming challenge. The project gave us an opportunity to turn an idea into a practical tool designed to make debugging more accessible and beginner-friendly.
What we learned
We improved our understanding of Node.js, API integration, frontend development, and AI-assisted programming. We also learned the importance of testing code, handling errors, and designing applications around real user needs.
What's next for AI BUG FIXER FOR SMALL PROGRAMS
We plan to support more programming languages, improve the accuracy of bug detection, add automatic test-case generation, and provide step-by-step debugging guidance. Our long-term goal is to make the platform a helpful learning companion for programmers.
