Inspiration
Whenever I bookmarked a url and placing it to into some folder, I always feel like 'Did I already have this url?' or 'Is this correct place to put in?' Sorting through a messy list of bookmarks is frustrating. I wanted an easier way to keep bookmarks organized without spending time doing it manually. That's why I created AI Bookmark Organizer.
What it does
AI Bookmark Organizer is a Chrome extension that automatically sorts your bookmarks into categories using AI. Add a new bookmark, and it places it in the right folder for you. You can also organize all your existing bookmarks with one click.
How we built it
I used JavaScript and the Chrome Extensions API to interact with bookmarks and tabs. By integrating Chrome's built-in AI features, we made the extension analyze bookmarks and sort them into categories. We focused on keeping it simple and efficient.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the AI features to work smoothly was challenging. We had to manage session tokens and ensure the extension doesn't slow down the browser. Making the AI accurately categorize bookmarks also took some fine-tuning.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud that I have built a tool that saves people time and keeps their bookmarks organized without any hassle.
What we learned
We learned a lot about developing Chrome extensions and working with AI models inside the browser. We improved our skills in handling asynchronous tasks and optimizing performance.
What's next for Ai Bookmark Organizer
We'll work on adding more features, like custom categories and settings. We want to improve the AI for even better sorting and make the extension available to more users worldwide(multi language support).
