AI Based Diet Plan Recommednation Engine

Inspiration

The idea for this project came from observing how difficult it can be for people to maintain a healthy diet that actually fits their lifestyle. Many diet plans available online are too generic and don’t consider individual preferences, routines, or goals. I wanted to build something that could provide more personalized and practical recommendations.

What it does

This project helps users generate a diet plan based on their personal goals, preferences, and basic health information. Instead of following a one-size-fits-all approach, it gives suggestions that are more tailored to each individual, making it easier to follow and maintain.

How I built it

I built this project as a full-stack web application. The frontend was developed using React.js to create a clean and responsive user interface. On the backend, I used Node.js and Express.js to handle the logic and API requests. MongoDB was used to store user data.

For the recommendation part, I implemented logic that analyzes user input and generates suitable diet plans. I also worked on structuring the application in a modular way so it can be improved and scaled in the future.

Challenges I ran into

One of the main challenges was designing the recommendation logic in a way that produces useful and realistic diet plans. Another challenge was managing the flow of data between frontend and backend while keeping the system efficient and easy to maintain.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I’m proud that I was able to build a complete working application that solves a real problem. It was a great experience combining frontend, backend, and problem-solving into one project.

What I learned

Through this project, I improved my full-stack development skills and gained a better understanding of how to design and structure real-world applications. I also learned how to think more about user needs while building features.

What's next

In the future, I would like to improve the recommendation system, add more customization options, and make the application more intelligent by enhancing its logic and accuracy. I also plan to deploy it so it can be used by a wider audience.
