  Predicting artist of the artwork by photograph

Inspiration

With explosion of digital artwork scene and NFTs, it is difficult to recognize the creator of a specific artwork or NFT instantly.

What it does

Aare solves this problem by instantly recognizing the artists for a specific artwork using its photograph.

How we built it

It is built using AI capabilities provided by Azure Custom Vision service. I have trained Azure Custom Vision model with artwork created by two different artists: Rahphael Hefti and pplpleaser. After training the model, I performed some quick tests on the model. To use the model in apps, I've also tested the REST API provided by Azure Custom Vision service.

Challenges we ran into

Availability of training data/images.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

People can instantly find the artist just by scanning the photo of art. It'll enable artists to reach out to wider audience.

AI can augment the artists reach to market.

What's next for AI-based Art Recognizer (nickname Aare)

1. Add more artists to training data
2. Build a UI-app for Aare for artists.
