Inspiration

Many a times when I plan a trip, I had to search through multiple sites and gather information on various categories which involve huge time and effort, spanning across few days. In addition, I also had to talk to few friends or travel agents or family members in order to get their inputs to plan the trip.

As a trip planner, I felt there is a need to build a single page application which provides the necessary personalized recommendations and help the user plan the trip within few minutes thereby drastically reducing the time and effort spent in this regard.

I as an end user, felt the personalized recommendations should including everything right FROM Foods, Hotels, Attractions, Local transport options, Travel mobile apps, Travel tips TO an hourly itinerary for each day of the trip specifically designed based on the user preferences TO weather forecast, currency exchange rates and overall budget estimate. I also felt that an interactive ChatBot will be of immense help to obtain further details or clarifications on the trip plan. To add to this, I felt displaying a couple of images of the destination city in the single page application will help the user get a feel of the trip

What it does ?

Obtains the following details from the user

  5. Age and Gender
  6. Purpose of Visit
  7. Food Preferences
  8. Budget Category

Provides the following personalized recommendations to help planning the trip

1. Weather Forecast 2. Currency Exchange rate 3. Attractions 4. Foods 5. Local Transport options 6. Travel Mobile Apps 7. Hotels 8. Approximate Budget 9. Personalized Itinerary 10. Travel Tips 11. Chat with AI Assistant

In addition, it also generated a couple of images of the city for which the trip is being planned to help the user get a better feel of the trip

How I built it

I built this application using PartyRock which provides builders with access to Foundational Models from Amazon Bedrock in an intuitive and code-free app-building playground

Challenges we ran into

Not much of a challenge with PartyRock which is pretty simple and easy to use. The only challenge was to think through from an end user perspective and arrive at what features are necessary for this application. Once I did that, implementing using PartyRock wasn't a challenge
