Inspiration

Hiring the right people is the single most important factor for a startup’s success. However, the hiring process, especially for early-stage startups, is incredibly time-consuming and complex. With multiple interview stages and a growing team, founders and hiring managers often spend thousands of hours screening candidates. Moreover, defining and assessing core principles and cultural fit remains a major challenge. We wanted to build a solution that streamlines this process while ensuring alignment with a company's values and culture.

What it does

aha! is an AI-powered voice screening assistant that conducts 10-30 minute phone interviews with potential candidates. It evaluates their fit based on the hiring company’s core principles, culture, and values before they even reach an in-person interview.

The platform allows users to:

  1. Create a Custom Template – Define core principles and cultural values.
  2. Select the Hiring Position – Each role is mapped to a relevant hiring manager persona, ensuring alignment with the team’s expectations.
  3. Start Phone Screening – AI-powered interviews analyze candidate responses.
  4. Review Recommendations – Hiring teams receive structured insights on cultural and principle alignment.

How we built it

We leveraged AI voice technology to develop a scalable and efficient screening assistant. The system integrates customizable templates for hiring managers, dynamically mapping candidates to key company values. Using Eleven Labs’ global voice technology, we ensured that interviews feel natural and professional while enabling companies to automate early-stage screening.
