Inspiration

In many developing agricultural markets, smallholder farmers lose up to 60% of their potential income to middlemen and lack access to real-time market pricing. We built AgroVoice to eliminate market opacity, empower farmers with voice-driven AI, and provide a direct B2B pipeline to wholesale buyers.

What it does

AgroVoice is a voice-first B2B agricultural ecosystem that connects farmers directly with commercial buyers.

  • Voice-First AI Assistant: Farmers can speak naturally in their native language to check real-time market rates and post crop listings.
  • Smart Price Prediction Engine: Analyzes historical supply/demand metrics to predict fair market prices for agricultural products.
  • Direct B2B Marketplace: Bypasses predatory intermediaries by establishing direct connections between producers and buyers.

How we built it

  • Google Gemini API: Serves as the core intelligence engine. We leverage Gemini's multimodal capabilities for voice intent recognition, natural language processing of local dialects, and dynamic price analysis.
  • Backend: Python and Node.js managing core market metrics and business logic.
  • Frontend: Mobile interface focused on voice accessibility for local producers.

Challenges we ran into

Handling regional agricultural terminology and local voice inputs was a key challenge. We addressed this by fine-tuning prompts and contextualizing localized data schemas through the Google Gemini API.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building a functional prototype that converts complex pricing data into an intuitive, voice-guided assistant accessible to local producers.
