The agricultural sector is the largest employer in India's economy but contributes to a declining share of its GDP. Why? Because farmers are not happy. Why aren't they happy? Well, me and my friends discovered one of the reasons during a conversation with a farmer before couple of days.
We: Hey there Farmer? Why you die of hunger? Why don't you have enough money when you grow food for the world? Farmer: I go to nearest towns, sell out what I have grown throughout the year, for prices what businessmen wants to pay. We do not know what the prices are in the market. We: Oh I see! So how can we solve your problems? Farmer: Well, what if I get regular sms or a notification in our phones about the prices! I know that I am cheated by businessmen but I do not have options for now. We: Hmm! Why not! Do you use smart phones? Farmer: Some farmers involved in trading and business does use. But they do not know English. We: Great! How about notification/sms in Gujarati?
