Inspiration
Inspiration was gotten from past farming experience and relationship with farmers in the rural areas and how to help them maximize profit.The problem we observed are in the pre harvest and post harvest stage.For the pre harvest, inaccessibility to funds from financial organization and improved technologies like improved cultivars, seedlings, tissue culture, fertilizer, pesticides e.t.c. whereas the post harvest is lack of storage facilities and access to wide range of market (national and international).
What it does
The platform basically link up the farmers with financial institution that are giving funds , biotech companies that provide improved technologies like yam seedlings from IITA, Storage facilities like that of the warehouse at oshodi and to consumers which make up the market and it can be both national and international
How I built it
It was built by using Python Programming language,html,css and bootstrap.
Challenges I ran into
We had challenge of time which was quite short, a frontend developer owing to the fact that all of us are Backend developers and information and logistics involved in getting the domain and submission
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We are glad we could put the idea into tech solution and come out with a demo product, although not so perfect but a representation.
What I learned
We learned the importance of team work and collaboration. We also had to learn how to use bootstrap and html5
What next for Agro-Proov
Agro-Proov has a solution that will not only change the lives of farmers but also improve the gross product of the nation. We are looking at getting investors both nationally and internationally to help birth this solution to reality which will bring about change in the economy of African countries.
