Inspiration
Challenges faced by our farmers and buyers was our inspiration behind this project.
As of today, we know that our farmers face a lot of problem in selling their crops at a reasonable price because they know only very few buyers who can buy their crop but maybe not at the price they expect. They do not have much options to sell their crops to the buyer of their choice who they find perfect for their deal, so they are left with no choice but to sell their crops to only the people they know of. Due to which they might or might not be satisfied with price they are getting for their crops. Not only the farmers face this problem but also the buyers face the challenge of finding the sellers of crop near them with the best quality and minimal price. Since they do not have much options between all the sellers for a certain item they want, they do not get to choose which product will be best for them at the most considerable price. At this point, both the sellers and buyers have to stick to the dealers they have known for all the while and make this compromise with which they might not be satisfied.
In conclusion, all these issues inspired us to deal with them by introducing our website 'AGRO-ME'.
What it does
t helps the buyers and sellers to tackle these issues by bringing them together on one platform. A seller could have the list of all the buyers near him just on a single screen with all the relevant information on the buyer's profile as well as the buyer could have the list of all the sellers near him with all the information he require. They can choose their dealer according to their requirements from various options available to them , contact their dealer for clearing their queries if have any, and get themselves a deal by just one click. Not only this, user can also buy any farming product in the shopping area in the website with different price ranges available with different categories. News section is also provided in the website where user can have all the news related to farming and different farming videos for their help.
How we built it
We made this project using HTML, CSS, JSS, BOOTSTRAP, JQUERY, DJANGO, POSTGRESQL, HEROKU, PYTHON
Challenges we ran into
We faced the challenge of having database of the users we needed in website. It was difficult to understand the exact problem buyers/sellers faced and how to tackle this. We faced the difficulty in hosting our website live.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is the first time for our team to participate in a hackathon , and we are glad that each of us were able to apply our skills in finishing the project, as well as learning from one another about various other things.
