Inspiration

To educate the public and to spell out myths and propaganda surrounding the agriculture sector.

What it does

There is a website which provides a product verification site for agricultural products eg pesticides and genetically modified organism products. Theres an AI powered chatbot that is user friendly and answers any question posed accurately. There's a quiz area to access the understanding of the user. There are educational videos to enhance deeper understanding. We are incorporating the use of Virtual reality to show how genetically modified organisms are made in science labs.

How we built it

We started working on the chatbot. We sourced for accurate information from research work done by institutions like KEMRI, KALRO and ILRI. we used publications from ResearchGate and Wikipedia. We trained our model on the information and tested its accuracy. We moved on to the website which took time as we tried to fix the UI. later on, we sort the use of virtual reality for education purposes. We shot videos in labs, though at a limited angle of 180, we got good results. We tested it out with few people and the feedback was amazing

Challenges we ran into

Making the chatbot multilingual and acquiring a USSD code

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We presented our project in ABBC 2025 in Lusaka, Zambia and we won.

What we learned

Progress, not perfection. what we don’t get done today, we’ll tackle tomorrow.

What's next for AgriVerify

To patent our idea and also to better our services by getting the USSD Code and making the chatbot multilingual
