Inspiration
Agriculture remains the backbone of many economies, yet farmers often struggle with fragmented data, limited visibility into farm operations, security threats, disease outbreaks, and poor financial record-keeping. We wanted to create a unified platform that empowers both smallholder and commercial farmers with real-time intelligence, AI-driven decision-making, and transparent record management.
Our inspiration was to combine modern technologies—AI, computer vision, blockchain, and smart data integration—into a single precision farming solution that helps farmers improve productivity, reduce losses, and make informed decisions.
What it does
AgriMon Pro is an AI-powered precision farm intelligence platform that brings together:
- Real-time crop and soil monitoring
- Livestock management and feed optimization
- AI-powered disease detection and agronomic recommendations
- CCTV security with YOLOv8 object detection
- Blockchain-secured financial and incident records using Hedera
- AI farm advisor powered by Claude
- Budget and ROI tracking
- Weather intelligence and planting recommendations
The platform consolidates drone data, soil sensors, weather information, livestock metrics, security monitoring, and financial records into a single dashboard, giving farmers a complete operational view of their farms.
How we built it
We built AgriMon Pro using a modern, scalable architecture:
- Frontend: React, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS
- AI Advisor: Anthropic Claude for contextual farm recommendations
- Computer Vision: YOLOv8 running in-browser through ONNX Runtime for CCTV monitoring and intrusion detection
- Blockchain: Hedera Hashgraph for immutable transaction records, sensor logs, and security incident audits
- State Management: Zustand
- Data Integration: MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors for weather, drone telemetry, soil sensors, finance, and future market-price feeds
- Farm Intelligence Layer: Fabric IQ scoring engine that analyzes soil health, disease risk, finance, and security metrics to generate recommendations
To ensure accessibility and rapid prototyping, all farm data is currently generated through a synthetic data engine that can later be swapped for real-world APIs and IoT devices.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the biggest challenges included:
- Designing a platform that could unify multiple farm operations into a single intuitive dashboard.
- Integrating AI recommendations with live farm context while maintaining responsiveness.
- Building a realistic farm simulation layer that accurately represents sensor, livestock, weather, and financial data.
- Creating a scalable architecture for future IoT and drone integrations.
- Designing blockchain workflows that add transparency without complicating the farmer experience.
- Simulating real-time CCTV monitoring and object detection pipelines for farm security.
Accomplishments that we're proud of

- Successfully combining AI, computer vision, blockchain, and agricultural intelligence into one platform.
- Building a complete end-to-end precision farming dashboard with multiple operational modules.
- Implementing YOLOv8-powered CCTV monitoring capable of detecting intruders, livestock, workers, and vehicles.
- Leveraging Hedera for immutable farm transaction records and security incident logging.
- Creating an AI advisor that provides farm-specific recommendations using live operational context.
- Designing a modular architecture that can easily transition from synthetic data to real IoT devices and APIs.
What we learned
Through building AgriMon Pro, we learned that:

- Blockchain can provide trust and transparency beyond financial transactions, especially for audit trails and agricultural provenance.
- Computer vision has strong potential for farm security, livestock monitoring, and operational automation.
- Building agricultural technology requires balancing advanced functionality with simplicity and usability.
- A modular architecture is critical for integrating future sensors, drones, and external services.
