A self-paced, AI-powered platform that introduces youths to high-value farming through engaging videos, texts, ^ audios. A pathway to self-employment, productivity, & sustainable agriculture.
Inspiration- Inspired using a personal experience. Every time I want to learn about a particular type of farming, I use the internet. But most of the content I get from the internet I find them to be vague and not relatable to my local context. Different regions have different climatic conditions, different resources and ways of approaching farming. This makes learning farming on the internet hard. Then I thought, what if I create learning content that is relatable to Malawi and Africa as a whole?
What it does- Introduces aspiring participants especially the youths to concepts of climate smart farming using locally available resources. For instance, if you would like to learn lets say 'how to grow and start a mushroom business' in African context, the platform will take you through all the steps on how you can do this from scratch and also using resources that are available in your particular local setting
How we built it- I started with physical trainings reaching about 3000 participants. In order to scale outreach, I started building online content that could be accessible every where and every time using Canva and Lovable
Challenges we ran into- Making online content required me to learn a lot of digital tools just to make it possible since with limited resources it is hard to hire extra hand for assistance
Accomplishments that we're proud of- I can proudly say the content for the platform is 60% done which makes and we have a visible prototype and blueprint to proceed with my vision of a well informed generation that is able to rely on themselves using agribusiness skills as an alternative for employment
