AgriConnect

Inspiration

We were inspired by the challenges faced by farmers in Algeria, who often struggle to find buyers for their crops at a fair price due to limited access to markets. We saw an opportunity to use technology to connect farmers directly to potential buyers and help solve this problem.

What it does

AgriConnect is a platform that connects farmers in Algeria to potential buyers, allowing them to showcase their products and reach a wider market. The platform provides information on location, price, quality, and quantity of available crops, helping buyers make more informed decisions. In the future, we plan to offer AI-based recommendations to help buyers find the best products for their needs.

How we built it

We built AgriConnect using a combination of modern web development tools . The platform is built using Nextjs for front end and Nest.js for backend, with a PostgreSQL database to store information on farmers and crops.

Challenges we ran into

Technical implementation was also a challenge, as we had to ensure the platform was scalable, secure, and user-friendly. Marketing was also a challenge, and we had to develop a strategy to reach our target audience and convince them of the value of the platform.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to have created a platform that has the potential to make a real impact on the lives of farmers in Algeria. Our beta version has already received positive feedback from early users, and we're excited to continue improving the platform and expanding its reach.

What we learned

Throughout the development process, we learned a lot about the specific needs and challenges faced by farmers in Algeria, as well as the technical and logistical challenges involved in building a platform like AgriConnect. We also gained valuable experience working with modern web development tools and cloud infrastructure.

What's next for AgriConnect

Moving forward, our plan is to continue improving the platform based on user feedback and data analysis. We hope to expand our user base and increase the number of farmers and buyers using the platform. We also plan to explore the use of AI-based recommendations to help buyers find the best products for their needs. Ultimately, our goal is to help build a more transparent and efficient agricultural market in Algeria.
