AGRICA is an AI-driven agricultural platform that connects farmers and buyers while providing agronomy support through voice, web, and mobile technologies.

It is designed specifically for African farmers, including those without internet access or smartphones.

🚜 Inspiration

Millions of farmers across Africa rely on basic phones and lack access to agronomists, fair markets, and modern tools.
Most agri-tech solutions assume smartphones and stable internet — leaving many farmers behind.

We believed a simple phone call should be enough to access expert farming support and fair markets.

🌾 What It Does

📞 IVR-Based AI Agronomist (Offline)

  • Farmers call a short number and speak in local languages (Amharic, Swahili, etc.)
  • An AI agronomist powered by Gemini understands unclear speech
  • Provides simple advice on:
    • Crop diseases
    • Soil and weather issues
    • Farming best practices

🗣️ Voice-Based Crop Selling

  • Farmers list crops entirely by voice
  • The AI asks for:
    • Name
    • Crop type
    • Quantity
    • Price
    • Location
  • Listings are automatically published to the marketplace
    Removes exploitative middlemen

🌐 Web & Mobile Platform (Online)

  • Chat or speak with the AI agronomist
  • Upload crop photos or videos for analysis
  • Buyers browse listings and contact farmers directly

✅ Gemini Verified Listings

  • AI analyzes uploaded crop images
  • Verified listings receive a Gemini Verified badge
  • Improves buyer trust and reduces fraud
