Inspiration

Agriculture powers billions of lives but remains trapped in outdated systems. Most small farmers lack access to affordable credit, wholesalers and retailers struggle with liquidity gaps, and financial institutions hesitate to lend due to lack of verified procurement data. Meanwhile, consumers remain disconnected from the origin and fairness of their food supply. We were inspired to build AgriLinkPlus — a platform that brings every participant in the agri-economy into one transparent, technology-driven ecosystem. The vision is simple yet transformative: empower every hand that feeds the nation — with trust, transparency, and technology.

What it does

AgriLinkPlus connects farmers, wholesalers, retailers, financial institutions, and final consumers on one digital platform.

Farmers can access finance backed by verified procurement contracts.

Wholesalers and retailers can manage supply, finance, and transactions transparently.

Banks can offer data-driven credit using real-time trade records.

Consumers can prepay for farm products through Offer Price Coupon Programs, enabling liquidity flow to the system. Every transaction passes through a smart escrow mechanism, ensuring risk-free and traceable payments across the entire agri-chain.

How we built it

We developed AgriLink+ using a modular, cloud-native architecture:

Frontend: React.js (Web) + Flutter (Mobile) for intuitive multi-role dashboards.

Backend: Node.js with Express to manage APIs, procurement, and payment logic.

Database: PostgreSQL for structured data and MongoDB for trade logs.

Blockchain Layer: Hyperledger Fabric for verified procurement and smart escrow contracts.

AI Engine: Python-based ML models (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow) for credit scoring and risk analytics.

Cloud Infrastructure: AWS (Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway) for serverless scalability.

Payments: Razorpay / UPI integrated with automated settlement smart contracts.

The architecture was designed for security, scalability, and interoperability with financial institutions.

Challenges we ran into

Designing a unified data model to support multiple user types with distinct workflows.

Integrating financial compliance logic (loan, escrow, refund, and coupon expiry) with blockchain.

Building AI risk scoring models with limited open agricultural transaction datasets.

Balancing UX simplicity for rural users with complex backend automation.

Ensuring trust and transparency in consumer prepayment and refund systems.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a working prototype simulating real trade between farmers, wholesalers, retailers, and banks.

Developed a smart escrow and refund system for consumer coupon programs — a novel liquidity innovation.

Created a credit scoring engine that rates participants based on verified procurement performance.

What we learned

Technology can make agri-finance transparent, but simplicity drives adoption.

Blockchain is most powerful when it enhances — not replaces — institutional trust.

Consumers are willing to support farmers directly if transparency and fair pricing exist.

Collaboration between financial institutions and agri-supply players is the key to sustainable inclusion.

Building for real-world impact requires empathy, patience, and field understanding — not just code.

What's next for Agri Link Plus
