agrichain honestly came from me just thinking like “why is agriculture still this confusing??” farmers don’t trust buyers, buyers dont trust farmers, everyone just hopes the product is real and fresh and whatever, and i thought ok blockchain should fix this by now so i kinda jumped in with the idea even tho i wasn’t fully sure how to build it lol. so what it does is basically let farmers add their products, warehouses update stuff, transport guys log movement and then buyers scan a qr code and boom they get the whole history on-chain, like a timeline thing but not fakeable cuz its on polkadot. i built it with html css js and then i fought the polkadot/api like 200 times cuz sometimes it connects and sometimes its like “nah bro” and throws weird errors that make no sense, i literally had moments staring at the screen like “why???” and then magically it works again. challenges were like the api being picky, some ui breaking for no reason, me mixing up chain endpoints, data sometimes not updating the way i expected, and also me learning substrate stuff WHILE building the app which lowkey fried my brain a bit but i made it. im proud honestly cuz the thing actually runs, like its a real working prototype and not just screenshots, it tracks stuff end to end and shows it to users cleanly. i learned a bunch, like how polkadot works in real life, how to deal with chain state, send/read data, making qr features, and how important it is to make the app simple cuz users get confused easily (and tbh so did i). next for agrichain i wanna make it way better: add proper ink! smart contracts, make a mobile version cuz farmers prob wont open laptops, do kusama escrow payments, maybe add product certification stuff, more analytics, and if i can actually test it with real farmers someday that’d be kinda insane. i feel like it can grow into something real if i keep pushing it.
