I come from managing development projects with agile and I encountered a new challenge when working with creative digital product projects. There it is very important to add creative value in each action but it is also important to be efficient in each step of the process, which is why I decided to implement the agile scrum method to manage this type of project. Agile not only boxes the entire project but also provides the order framework in which each role on the team must do its homework. Delivery times are optimized and deadlines are kept at bay. The possibility of knowing exactly where to place greater efforts to add value makes the product that is offered of high quality. The team focuses on the ideation phase where efforts are placed without restrictions, this stage being the only one with that attribute. Then, in the planning phase, the iterations and their milestones are defined with each delivery to arrive with the best possible version at the launch of the action. The main challenge ahead is the creative roles of the team. Fitting creative work into an agile method of work is not easy. Creative profiles tend to be handled with very much freedom and the important thing is to convince them that agile does not restrict them but rather generates order to carry out their task in the best possible way. Being able to be flexible to assume changes during the iteration, show results in each iteration and add value propositions above what is expected is undoubtedly a great achievement. There is too much prejudice, on many occasions, about creative work. One of them is that it cannot fit into an agile working method. Yes it can be done and more importantly, it makes the delivered product better. The direction must be in assuming that the path is permanent improvement and the empowerment of work teams in collaborative work. We are very eager to make them part of our work with creative projects managed with agile methodologies.
