Inspiration

The inspiration that was given to our team is that people in the US military, Navy, Air Force, etc. who secure the nation don't have much time and don't have financial stability in their families. So, to assist the nation in becoming stronger by helping our troops in a way by solving the solution technically and by helping them ecstatic by sending packages of the essential items.

What it does

  1. Gathering Military Information: Our project collects crucial military personnel details from family members, facilitating package requests stored in a secure database.

  2. Efficient Inventory Management: Blue Star Mom NGo can streamline packing processes based on available inventory, enhancing operational efficiency.

  3. Seamless Label Creation: Our application generates USPS shipping labels with military and Star Mom NGO information. These labels are promptly emailed to relatives, signaling package readiness for shipping.

  4. Email Updates: The app maintains up-to-date email contacts for military personnel's relatives, ensuring effective communication.

  5. Multilingual Support: We prioritize inclusivity by offering multilingual features to assist non-native English speakers.

  6. Donation Integration: Our application includes a versatile donation feature, accepting contributions in various forms, including monetary, clothing, and food items.

  7. Future Expansion: Our vision extends to building a robust online presence, strengthening community engagement across social platforms.

How we built it

We developed the project using the MERN stack, a robust technology combination comprising MongoDB for the database, Express for the server, React for the user interface, and Node.js for the runtime environment, ensuring a powerful and versatile solution.

Challenges we ran into

Creating the shipping label posed significant challenges due to the lack of a readily available API and the unreliability of Google's suggested solutions. After extensive efforts, we successfully implemented the feature. Another hurdle was forming a team on short notice, but we still delivered a successful project.
