Inspiration: As TAMU students, we constantly saw classmates struggle with affording basic items, finding roommates, or getting access to services like tutoring or rides. Conversations with friends and personal experiences revealed just how fragmented and inefficient student-to-student sharing is on campus. That inspired us to design AggieShare — a unified platform to connect Aggies through shared resources, services, and support.
What We Learned: We learned how important UX/UI is in solving real problems. From wireframing to designing interactive flows in Figma, we focused on making each screen intuitive and functional. We also gained experience in user journey mapping, identifying pain points, and incorporating accessibility and TAMU branding into our design.
How We Built It: We used Figma to create a full prototype of the AggieShare app. This includes:
- A clean onboarding flow with account creation and preferences
- A dynamic homepage showing item and service listings
- Filtering and booking options for rentals
- A roommate and event discovery interface Each screen was thoughtfully designed to reflect real student needs and priorities.
Challenges We Faced: One of our biggest challenges was narrowing down features — there were so many ideas we wanted to include! It took multiple iterations to prioritize what was most useful and realistic. We also had to learn how to design for mobile-first experiences while keeping the interface clear and not overwhelming. Since we focused purely on the design stage, balancing detail and simplicity was key.
