Inspiration

Getting back into the world and meeting new people after over a year of isolation!

What it does

Connects Aggies together doing whatever they want! Anyone can add an event which is viewable by everyone! When looking for events to attend, see the description, title, location, and Covid information about the event as well as everyone attending and their Vaccination status.

How we built it

Utilizing the Flutter/Dart framework developed by Google and VS Code along with Android emulators to test and view the app while in development.

Challenges we ran into

Displaying a GoogleMaps widget of the location of the event.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built the entire user interface from scratch using only standard library widgets from Flutter!

What we learned

Probably need to utilize more open source resources in the future to make front-end development faster and cleaner. Definitely spent too much time working on front-end and not enough time developing backend features.

What's next for AggieConnect

Creating user profiles along with user authentication.
