Studying in the mSC and hear beautiful notes? As Aggies we all know the gran piano in the flag room and understand how important it is to out school. The idea for creating an interactable piano arose when wen witnessed several people, students and alumni, practice on their free time.
What it does
It helps unites Aggies through though love of music and the loyalty to the best University in Texas.
How we built it
Using Python with PIL, Tkinter and Pygame, we implemented live keyboard sounds from the grand piano and dined each sound to a button we created on the screen.
Challenges we ran into
Working with multiple python version and different operating systems created a discourse of error but once we centralized all of the code, everything ran smoothly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We all gained a vast knowledge about working with multiple libraries and the friends that we all have made during the process.
What we learned
We learned that python is very different from object oriented coding and we still have a lot to learn. The best way to increase on what we know is creating more projects and tinkering with python and hopefully add a framework.
What's next for Aggie Keyboard
Add a framework using Django or something else. Also Saw em Off.
