Inspiration

As someone who manages websites, I realized that I really have no way of knowing whether the website contained what a user was looking for. Sure, you can measure a new lead, but there are lots of situations outside of that where you simply don’t know.

What it does

AgentSignal provides a simple way for agents to let site owners know when they could not find information on a website they went to. Let’s say a user wants to know whether an event is wheelchair accessible. Their agent visits the event website, but it does not contain information about wheelchair accessibility. The agent can then use AgentSignal to provide a small amount of information on what they were looking for but could not find. The site owner can then see this and choose to update their website with that info to help future site visitors.

This was made with Codex.

Challenges we ran into

Privacy was a concern for this, so being specific about what type of information the agent should/should not share was important.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is a pretty simple project, but something I would find genuinely useful.

What we learned

I learned about WebMCP and I look forward to using it more in the future.

What's next for AgentSignal

I would like to integrate this into my own website. I will consider things like this in a professional setting also.
