Inspiration

We were inspired by the need for a unified, intelligent marketplace where AI agents could be composed and reused to automate data retrieval tasks easily.

What it does

Agents in the Wild is a platform that allows users to browse, create, and orchestrate AI agents (using Apify) for tasks like social media scraping, all with built-in authentication, wallet management, and real-time API testing.

How we built it

We used React 18 for the frontend, Express.js for the backend, PostgreSQL with Drizzle ORM for the database, and integrated Apify SDK for agent automation and orchestration.

Challenges we ran into

• Designing a system to orchestrate multiple Apify actors reliably
  
• Managing asynchronous data flow between frontend and backend
  
• Secure session and authentication management

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Built a master Apify agent capable of coordinating complex workflows
  
• Created a recommendation agent that finds the best Apify actor for a given tool
  
• Delivered a complete full-stack application with a polished UI

What we learned

• How to integrate and manage Apify actors programmatically
  
• Implementing secure authentication with Passport.js
  
• Real-time API interface design and orchestration logic

What's next for Agents in the Wild

• Add support for more platforms and data sources
  
• Enable agent monetization and marketplace discovery
