Inspiration
As a former design and technology studio co-founder, my first thought when I saw WebMCP was: "Web developers are about to get paid a lot." But I realized getting millions of businesses to rebuild or adapt their websites for AI agents would take years. That made me think about Google Business Profiles. A simple way for businesses to get visibility on the web. Same for Agents. It shouldnt take years for businesses to adapt to agents.
What it does
Agentprofiles gives businesses an identity built for AI agents. Each profile exposes information about the business, its capabilities, and the actions an agent can perform through WebMCP. An agent can discover a business, understand what it offers, and interact with supported actions.
But it doesn't just stop at businesses. People can create events and happenings that ChatGPT can find/recommend to a user, giving a clear overview for users on whats happening around them. This could be dragged even further by enabling restaurants to add deals so users can find 2 for 1 or other deals straight from the agent.
How we built it
We built Agentprofiles around WebMCP as the interaction layer between AI agents and businesses. Businesses create a structured profile containing their identity and available actions, which agents can discover and use when completing tasks on behalf of users.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was figuring out what an "identity" for a business should contain when designed for agents. We had to separate information meant to describe the business from capabilities that agents should be able to invoke directly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a working concept for turning businesses into discoverable and actionable entities for AI agents. Instead of requiring an agent to understand an entire website (often outdated info), Agentprofiles gives it a structured representation of who the business is and what it can do/offer.
I think this would be the fastest way for businesses to start getting into AI.
What we learned
WebMCP changes how websites can be designed for agents. The interesting part is not only exposing individual actions, but creating a structured layer around those actions so agents can understand which businesses and capabilities are available to them.
What's next for Agentprofile
I would love to see OpenAI take this concept further and create Agent Profiles, similar to Google Business Profiles. Businesses could provide their information, services, and WebMCP actions once, giving AI agents a standardized way to discover, understand, and interact with them.
