The idea for Agently.ai was born from a simple question:

“What if any business could hire an AI-powered voice or video agent just like assigning a phone number?”

We noticed that many companies—especially in HR, hospitality, and sales—spend countless hours making repetitive calls: scheduling interviews, taking bookings, answering FAQs, and qualifying leads. Our goal was to build a tool that could automate this human-to-human interaction using realistic conversational agents over the phone or video.

🔨 How We Built It

We used the Bolt no-code tool to build the front-end and automate workflows, integrating with powerful external APIs and services:

Twilio / Plivo for phone number provisioning, voice calls, and routing

Supabase for user management, agent data, call recordings, and transcripts

OpenAI / ElevenLabs / AssemblyAI for AI speech synthesis, conversation intelligence, and audio-to-text

Custom-built UI animations for a modern, interactive feel

A flexible agent assignment module: users can rent numbers, describe their use case (e.g., HR, hotel, sales), and instantly deploy an AI agent

🧠 What We Learned

How to combine no-code tools with real-time telephony APIs to build scalable platforms

The importance of user experience when dealing with voice agents—tone, pauses, and response speed matter a lot

Leveraging Lottie animations and micro-interactions to make the experience more human-like

Structuring call data and summaries in a way that’s actually useful to businesses (transcripts, leads, summaries)

🚧 Challenges We Faced

Handling multiple agent use-cases (HR, hotel, sales) while keeping the flow simple

Managing latency in phone calls to ensure natural conversations

Choosing the right telephony provider that supports phone numbers in key countries (India, US, UK)

Ensuring GDPR and call recording compliance for global users

Integrating transcription, summarization, and call storage in real time with no-code limitations
