Inspiration
As an inspiring startup founder, I was frustrated with the tedious process of manually submitting our startup to hundreds of directories and launch platforms. Spending months filling out repetitive forms, uploading the same assets over and over, and dealing with different submission requirements was eating into valuable time that should have been spent building our product and serving customers.
There had to be a better way - and that's when the idea for AgentLaunch AI was born.
What it does
AgentLaunch AI automates the entire startup directory submission process using advanced AI technology. Users simply provide their startup information once, and our intelligent agent handles submissions to 100+ free platfroms.
Key features:
- AI-Powered Form Filling: Multimodal LLM technology analyzes each directory's submission form and fills it intelligently
- Real-time Tracking: Live dashboard showing submission progress and results
- Smart Adaptation: AI adapts to different form layouts and requirements automatically
- Comprehensive Coverage: Supports 100+ startup directories and launch platforms
- Detailed Reporting: Track success rates, submission URLs, and performance metrics ## How we built it Frontend: Built with React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS for a modern, responsive user experience. Used Framer Motion for smooth animations and React Hook Form for robust form handling.
Backend: Node.js with Express server handling API requests, Stripe integration for payments, and background job processing with cron scheduling.
AI Engine: Integrated OpenAI's GPT-4 Vision model to analyze webpage screenshots and HTML, intelligently identifying form fields and mapping startup data to appropriate inputs.
Automation: Puppeteer for browser automation, handling complex form interactions, file uploads, and submission processes across different websites.
Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL) with Row Level Security for secure data management, real-time updates, and file storage for logos and assets.
Infrastructure: Designed for scalability with background job processing, error handling, and comprehensive logging for monitoring submission success rates.
Challenges we ran into
AI Accuracy: Getting the AI to reliably identify form fields across vastly different website layouts was challenging. We solved this by combining screenshot analysis with HTML parsing and implementing fallback strategies.
Rate Limiting: Many directories have anti-bot measures. We implemented intelligent delays, user-agent rotation, and respectful crawling practices to maintain good relationships with directory sites.
Form Complexity: Some directories have multi-step forms, CAPTCHA challenges, or require manual review. We built a system to handle these edge cases gracefully and flag them for manual intervention.
Data Consistency: Ensuring startup information is formatted correctly for each directory's specific requirements required building a flexible data mapping system.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- It works: The application actually does what it promises.
What we learned
AI Integration: Learned how to effectively combine different AI capabilities (vision, text processing) to solve real-world automation challenges.
Web Automation: Gained deep expertise in browser automation, anti-detection techniques, and handling dynamic web content.
Product-Market Fit: Validated that there's genuine demand for startup automation tools - the problem we solved is widespread and painful.
Technical Architecture: Learned to build resilient systems that gracefully handle failures and provide clear feedback to users.
What's next for AgentLaunch
Enhanced AI: Implementing more sophisticated AI models for better form recognition and natural language processing of directory requirements.
Expanded Coverage: Adding support for international directories, industry-specific platforms, and emerging launch platforms.
Advanced Analytics: Building deeper insights into which directories drive the most traffic and conversions for different startup types.
API Integration: Developing APIs to integrate with popular startup tools like Notion, Airtable, and CRM systems.
Community Features: Adding a marketplace where users can share successful submission strategies and directory recommendations.
