Inspiration
Traditional film and episodic pre-production requires months of manual coordination across fragmented departments: script breakdowns, camera shot planning, sound design, union budgeting, call sheets, and pitch deck presentations. We wanted to build an autonomous multi-agent studio that democratizes Hollywood-tier virtual production by turning a raw screenplay into a complete production package in minutes.
What It Does
Agentic Cinema Studio is an autonomous multi-agent virtual production studio and entertainment ecosystem powered by Google Gemini and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations:
- 3-Act Multi-Scene Episodic Pipeline: Cascades scene breakdowns across Act I (Inciting Incident), Act II (Midpoint Climax), and Act III (Resolution) while tracking character emotional trauma progression (1-10), costume wear/tear degradation, and prop possession.
- Interactive Virtual Production LED Volume Stage: ILM StageCraft / Unreal Engine nDisplay digital twin with 6-DOF camera tracking (X, Y, Z, Pan, Tilt, Roll), optical frustum cone projection for 18mm–135mm cinema lenses, and background parallax shift.
- Generative Media Studio: Structured diffusion prompt sequence bundles tailored for Google Veo and Imagen 3, 2D overhead lighting/camera blocking diagrams, and full production asset export archives.
- Director AI Copilot: Real-time natural language scene revisions that re-balance the entire 4-department production package simultaneously with preset directive chips (Rain-Slicked Noir, Escalate Action, Intimate Macro Optics, Indie Budget Trim).
- Web Audio API Spatial Soundstage: Procedural 55Hz sub-bass ambient drone, tempo-locked heartbeat pulses, binaural stereo dialogue panning, and real-time glowing canvas oscilloscope.
- Hollywood 1st AD Call Sheet: Complete studio call sheet with crew call times, cast schedules, hospital trauma info, and one-click print-to-PDF formatting.
- Executive Studio Greenlight Pitch Deck: Commercial logline, 4-quadrant audience demographics (interactive SVG charts), historical box office comps (Arrival, Ex Machina, The Martian, Blade Runner 2049), and $2.95M Virtual Production cost-saving analysis.
How We Built It
- Frontend: React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4, Motion, Lucide icons, native HTML5 Canvas 2D/SVG for the 60fps LED volume stage simulator and audio visualizer.
- Backend: Node.js, Express, TypeScript, esbuild.
- AI & Swarm Resilience: Gemini models with ADV-4.1 defensive error shielding and calibrated Hollywood heuristic fallbacks ensuring zero unhandled 503/429 errors.
- 5-Track Partner MCP Gateway:
- ClickHouse: Columnar OLAP queries, production telemetry, asset render index (<15ms query execution SLA).
- Grafana Labs: Distributed OpenTelemetry tracing, span waterfalls, token metrics.
- Parallel: Distributed asynchronous worker execution, 8-node worker pool (4.8x parallel speedup).
- IBM watsonx: Content safety audit, IP clearance, MPA rating compliance (toxicity < 0.05).
- Replit: Containerized MCP server manifest and quickstart deployment.
Challenges We Ran Into
Ensuring resilient AI calls during high-load API spikes, maintaining strict character and wardrobe continuity across 3 connected acts, and rendering real-time 6-DOF frustum projection and parallax vectors without heavy 3D engine bundle bloat.
Accomplishments That We're Proud Of
Achieving 94/94 automated tests passing across 9 comprehensive test suites with 0 lint errors, engineering a full 12m curved LED volume stage simulator in native Canvas, and integrating all 5 partner tracks with verified performance SLAs.
What We Learned
Deep virtual production camera tracking protocols (FreeD), IATSE union guild labor rate structures, and multi-agent consensus validation.
What's Next for Agentic Cinema Studio
