Inspiration
For small businesses and artisans selling handcrafted or novelty items on platforms like Etsy, Ebay, or Shopify, managing inventory across multiple e-commerce sites is a significant challenge. AgentBay provides a streamlined solution. By utilizing an Agent-to-Agent Protocol, our service simplifies the selling process and helps businesses keep their inventory perfectly in sync, allowing them to stay organized and efficient.
What AgentBay does
AgentBay simplifies selling by allowing businesses to post inventory listings to multiple platforms simultaneously. This eliminates the need for manual data entry and the repetitive work of creating separate postings. After submitting a photo of your item, AgentBay automatically identifies and determines an optimal price compared to the same or similar items on the market. This then in which will then be distributed listing across your connected e-commerce sites.
How We Built AgentBay
- Utilized Google's A2A Protocol by leveraging their ADK and Gemini.
- MCP Servers with tools to handle sales and negotiations
- React for frontend (seller's portal and a mock site)
- FastAPI
Challenges We Ran Into
- Because Google's A2A protocol is new, the lack of available documentation and examples meant the majority of time was spent on learning and implementation.
- Gaining access to e-commerce APIs is challenging, as it requires a formal approval process and often comes with limited documentation.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Learning new and cutting edge technology.
- Pioneering the use of A2A
- Successfully utilizing a network of agents to automate the selling process
What we learned
- Implementing A2A with Google's Gemini using Agent Development Kit
- Acquiring API from e-commerce websites is difficult
What's next for AgentBay
- An end to end pipeline for both seller and buyer, where a buyer can also utilize agents to buy products efficiently.
