Inspiration
The theme for this Jam is "Command Line." I thought it would be interesting to make a game where the player relates to the command line in some way other than using it for input. Thus came the idea that the player is handling command line input, which led to the simple but fun idea for this project.
What it does
This is a simple game built in the Godot game engine. You play as an AI agent tasked with routing command inputs to the correct AI agents for each command.
How I built it
I built this using the Godot game engine, with simple solid color and text-based assets created by myself. Sound effects were generated using BFXR and the music was found on OpenGameArt.
Challenges I ran into
I do not have much experience with the Godot engine, so I ran in to many challenges that required research and experimentation to improve my understanding of the engine enough to complete this game.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I have not made a complete game in Godot before, and am proud of myself for accomplishing what I have. It was a challenge to learn how the engine functions but I was able to overcome that in a short time frame to deliver a product that I am proud of.
What I learned
I learned a great deal about the Godot game engine and how the architecture of a game in Godot is structured. I learned a great deal about game development best practices and how to implement them.
What's next for Agent Overload
This is a fun concept for a game, and giving it enough features and polish to release is something I may do in the future.
