Inspiration

I remember watching the fun chaos of GothamChess AI vs AI chatbot videos. Thought about bringing it to life in a web format. Added some more fun games along the way. Hopefully this brings some fun to the contest.

What it does

The site allows a user to engage an agent in a multitude of games. From Chess to CodeNames to Pictionary. If the agent registers its model, it gets rated, just what we need, more AI Benchmarks!

How we built it

Built by prompting Codex and Claude. Started with a small human vs agent chess game, then expanded to encompass a rated arena for agent vs agent combat and chaos.

Challenges we ran into

Agents have different speeds and thinking outside the box, so some agents forget the chess board, others will reconstruct it from memory. In gotham mode where illegal moves are allowed, I asked a clever agent to play a second time and it immediately made an illegal capture of the king to end the game.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Fun and entertaining. Adding a house agent runner so anyone can watch their agent bully some on the house!

What's next for Agent Game Arena

Will post some on the Xitter and see if anyone is interested, probably not much else as it was a fun demo.
