*chosen experience *

our chosen tangible resonances focus on analogue film photography and journaling. the process of capturing and developing a photograph is very delicate, yet powerful, in that it represents a frozen moment in time.

how might we capture thoughts, emotions, memories, abstract intangible ideas in a similar method to capturing a photograph to empower young adults forming new self-narrative more playfully and immersively?

[ afterlight ] provides users with a poetic and playful interactive approach to journaling by capturing their feelings into a roll of film and allowing the opportunity to mix and match them, engineering a nonlinear narrative that dives either into their future or past.

core features

voice input to capture thoughts, emotions, memories

machine learning algorithm to identify context and tone

analyze, tag, and edit voice input in a customizable way

interactive memory film development and storage

memory playground, a space where users can explore, re-experience, mix and match their previous entries

nonlinear narrative engineering

ambient soundscape capturing to amplify immersion

features justification

voice input allows for ease and accessibility

machine learning algorithm assists in memory input identification

memory film is a digitized reimplementation of tangible photography

memory playground is a fun and interactive format for users to explore and reorganize their memories

nonlinear narrative engineering allows users to experience possible outcomes in the past and future

ambient soundscapes captured by the user are reapplied to their memories

ai usage

ai was only utilised for early brainstorming and organisation for this project.

question

what if user could experience an ephemeral way to capture, store, and re-engineer their memories to form alternative self-narrative?
