Inspiration
I always wondered if i throw away a plastic bottle then it can't just vanish into thin air , it has to go some where and do a cycle , so I made this website for common things that we throw away and there cycle that they go through , thus i made After Life .
What it does
After Life is an interactive simulation that follows everyday objects after they are thrown away. Users choose an object, make a disposal or reuse decision, and watch its journey through collection, processing, recovery, reuse, and eventual disposal. They can rewind the simulation, explore alternative choices, and compare how different decisions change the object's environmental impact.
How we built it
We built with using common coding languages that are widely used in websites such as HTML5 for the overall back bone of the whole website and then the CSS for the design that goes over the back bone to make it more eye catching and finally the JS or javascript which is the animations and the overall backend for this website and has the responsibility to see and follow up on the users choices .
Challenges we ran into
The big and only challenge we really ran into was the UI and then follow up choices for the user .
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the UI and then over experience the user can get out of our website .
What we learned
We learned how to make a better UI with more css and also the js functions that were used and how to really use them in a real project instead of just studying the .
What's next for After Life
We are going to show it to our teachers and other students for over all reviews and make it help the community in some way possible .
