Inspiration

The aviation industry faces a major challenge in scaling Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF): the lack of visibility, traceability, and reliable forecasting of sustainable feedstock supply.

AFIN (Aviation Feedstock Intelligence Network) was created to bridge this gap by connecting farmers, feedstock suppliers, SAF producers, airlines, and investors through an Agentic AI-powered ecosystem.

Our vision is to create the intelligence layer that enables the global SAF industry to scale faster, more transparently, and more efficiently.

What it does

AFIN is an Agentic AI platform that helps stakeholders discover, forecast, and optimize sustainable aviation fuel feedstocks.

The platform enables users to:

Identify available feedstock sources Forecast future biomass supply Evaluate sustainability and traceability Match suppliers with SAF producers Support airline SAF procurement planning Generate investment intelligence for SAF projects

How we built it

AFIN combines:

Agentic AI workflows Agricultural and geographic intelligence Supply chain data Sustainability and traceability frameworks Decision-support systems

The platform is designed to transform fragmented biomass ecosystems into a transparent and investable SAF supply network.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges is the fragmentation of feedstock data across regions, industries, and stakeholders.

There is currently no unified intelligence platform connecting upstream feedstock production with downstream aviation demand.

Building a scalable architecture that can integrate multiple data sources while maintaining transparency and traceability remains a key challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We developed a clear vision for an AI-powered infrastructure platform that connects the entire SAF ecosystem.

AFIN integrates farmers, feedstock suppliers, SAF producers, airlines, and investors into a single intelligence network capable of supporting future SAF market growth.

What we learned

We learned that scaling SAF is not only a technology challenge but also a data, coordination, and ecosystem challenge.

AI can play a critical role in connecting fragmented stakeholders and enabling better decision-making across the value chain.

What's next for AFIN – Aviation Feedstock Intelligence Network

Our next step is to build and validate the first working prototype focused on feedstock discovery, forecasting, and supplier matching.

Long term, AFIN aims to become the global intelligence platform connecting every sustainable aviation fuel feedstock to every opportunity.
