💡 Inspiration

The BuuniEX Hackathon challenged us to envision a future where development is not just assisted, but autonomous. We observed a massive disconnect between local development environments, cloud telemetry, and project management platforms. Aetherium Nexus was born to bridge this gap, creating a frictionless, self-correcting ecosystem where the AI doesn't just write code—it manages the entire project lifecycle through the novel Devpost MCP Protocol.

⚡ What it does

Aetherium Nexus is a high-performance orchestration layer that transforms your development workflow into an autonomous agent-driven engine:

• Google Antigravity Agent: A cognitive engine that executes complex, multi-step logic with deep tool-tracing, allowing for self-healing code and autonomous project pathing.
• Devpost MCP Server: A world-first integration that syncs your project state directly with the Devpost ecosystem via the Model Context Protocol, enabling real-time submission updates and tool-based resource management.
• Cloud SQL Telemetry: A robust PostgreSQL backend managed by Drizzle ORM to record every agent interaction, performance metric, and user keystroke.
• Workspace Command Hub: Built-in terminals for Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Chat, allowing the agent to fetch documentation or communicate progress without leaving the interface.

🛠️ How we built it

• Frontend: React 18, Tailwind CSS, and Framer Motion for a sub-100ms latency UI experience.
• Autonomous Logic: Google Antigravity Agent using the Interactions API to manage long-running tool traces.
• Backend & MCP: A dedicated Node.js server implementing the Model Context Protocol (MCP) spec, enabling the agent to "handshake" with external Devpost resources.
• Data Persistence: Cloud SQL PostgreSQL, using Drizzle ORM to maintain type-safe telemetry and biometric mapping.
• Security: Firebase Identity combined with WebAuthn (Passkeys) for passwordless, high-security authentication.

🥊 Challenges we ran into

• Asynchronous Trace Management: Handling long-running agent traces without blocking the React state was a major hurdle. We implemented a custom WebSocket event bus to stream "Agent Thoughts" in real-time.
• MCP Token Authorization: Standardizing MCP handshakes across restricted Google Workspace environments required building a custom middleware layer to safely inject OAuth tokens into the context protocol.
• Zero-Latency Streaming: Achieving fluent communication between the Antigravity Agent and the frontend required fine-tuning our PostgreSQL write-ahead logs to avoid locking the UI during telemetry ingestion.

🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Full MCP Specification Compliance: Building a functional MCP server that allows the AI to perform "CRUD" operations on project documentation and submission metadata.
• Real-time Agent Observability: Visualizing the agent’s internal decision-making process through an interactive, animated cognitive graph.
• Seamless Cross-Cloud Orchestration: Successfully authenticating with Google Workspace and Cloud SQL simultaneously via a unified identity token.

📖 What we learned

We mastered the intricacies of the Model Context Protocol, specifically how to define custom tools that extend an agent’s capabilities into third-party APIs. We also gained deep expertise in Drizzle ORM’s migration patterns in high-concurrency cloud environments and the " Antigravity" paradigm of asynchronous, state-aware agent execution.

• Decentralized Mesh Networking: Shifting the agent’s memory layer from a central SQL database to a peer-to-peer IPFS mesh.
• Gemini Live API Integration: Implementing low-latency, bidirectional voice streams so users can "talk" to their project agent.
• Autonomous Agent Fleets: Enabling multiple specialized agents (e.g., a "QA Agent" and a "DevOps Agent") to collaborate on a single repository via an MCP-governed workspace.
