It is inspired by the desire to close the loop, to build a more resilient, equitable, and proactive future for healthcare in a changing climate.

AERO was inspired by the simple but often overlooked reality that millions of people live with conditions—like asthma and cardiovascular disease—that can worsen suddenly because of small changes in their environment. These shifts in air quality, pollen levels, or temperature happen quietly in the background, yet they trigger life-threatening symptoms without warning. Many people don’t have the tools or real-time information to know when they’re at risk, and this gap between the environment and personal health leads to emergencies that could have been prevented.

Seeing how environmental data is available but not personalized—and how many patients struggle to understand what it actually means for them—sparked the idea for AERO. The project was built on the belief that no one should suffer or lose their life simply because the air changed slightly and they had no way to know. AERO turns complex environmental information into something personal, understandable, and actionable, giving people the power to stay ahead of their symptoms and take control of their health.
