Inspiration

Cloud infrastructure monitoring often suffers from alert fatigue and sluggish manual response times when critical infrastructure anomalies arise. I wanted to build an autonomous agent that bridges raw telemetry with intelligent reasoning to instantly evaluate health metrics and dispatch targeted cloud hazard alerts.

What it does

AegisAgent is an autonomous infrastructure telemetry monitoring system. It leverages specialized Python tool definitions to analyze cloud metrics, uses Google Gemini 2.5 Flash to reason over potential system hazards, and integrates AWS SNS via the Boto3 SDK to dispatch automated incident alerts.

How I built it

• Agent Framework: Built using the Strands SDK for modular, robust tool-calling execution.
• Serverless Runtime: Deployed on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore to handle secure, isolated container execution and scale-to-zero infrastructure economics.
• LLM Reasoning Core: Powered by Google Gemini 2.5 Flash hosted through Bedrock to evaluate system performance and flag infrastructure warnings.
• Cloud Integration: Utilizes AWS Boto3 and SNS for secure, real-time alert dispatching.
• Language: Developed entirely in Python.

Challenges I ran into

Coordinating the asynchronous feedback loop between the Strands agent execution flow, the Gemini inference calls, and AWS SNS error handling required precise telemetry mocking and robust exception management.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Successfully orchestrating an autonomous agent that autonomously detects system failures, parses live telemetry, and pushes immediate notification payloads via AWS without human intervention.

What I learned

I gained deep hands-on experience designing production-grade autonomous agent pipelines, optimizing prompt structures for infrastructure evaluation, and tying custom Python tools directly into enterprise cloud messaging services.

What's next for AegisAgent

Expanding the agent's capabilities to support multi-region cloud environments, adding predictive anomaly detection using historical metrics, and integrating automated remediation scripts to resolve infrastructure warnings automatically.
