Inspiration

We believe that workplace safety is more than just preventing accidents, but also ensuring workers feel protected, supported, and secure throughout their working journey.

In Indonesia, two important systems are implemented: Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (K3) as a preventive measure to reduce workplace risks, and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan as a protection system that supports workers when work related incidents occur. However, challenges remain in bridging the two systems. Many workers in Indonesia still face difficulties in identifying workplace hazards, understanding proper safety procedures, reporting incidents, and accessing their rights due to limited awareness, incomplete documentation, and insufficient transparency in safety records.

What it does

Aegis bridges the gap between workplace safety prevention and worker protection by providing an integrated platform for AI-integrated medical report analysis, workplace incident reporting, emergency contact management, and an AI assistant that provides guidance on K3 regulations and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan procedures.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

Turning complex Indonesian K3 regulations and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan workflows into simple code logic and accurate AI prompts. Managing the strict rate limits of the free Gemini API while ensuring the application could consistently send and receive safety data without connection failures. Under tight time constraints, we struggled to narrow down our big ideas and prioritize only the most essential features to deliver a highly functional prototype.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully built a functional prototype that integrates AI-integrated medical report analysis, incident reporting, emergency contact management, and AI workplace safety assistant into a single platform. Integrated the Gemini API to provide health report Created a user-friendly interface that makes workplace safety information more accessible for workers with little technical or regulatory knowledge.

What we learned

Prioritizing core features under limited time helped us focus on delivering a functional and impactful prototype. Designing for workers means simplifying complex regulations into clear, accessible, and actionable guidance. AI is most valuable when paired with well-structured medical and incident data. This enables more meaningful health and safety insights.

What's next for Aegis

Expand AI capabilities to provide more personalized occupational health risk predictions and preventive recommendations. Integrate directly with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and healthcare providers to streamline claims and medical record management. Develop a real-time emergency response system with GPS-based SOS alerts and workplace incident tracking. Implement role-based dashboards for workers, HR, K3, and more officers to improve collaboration and safety monitoring.
