Aegis Home
Aegis Home is a simulated Alexa+ agentic experience designed to help people make and execute everyday household decisions without blindly handing control to an AI.
Instead of simply answering a request, Aegis Home turns it into a transparent action plan: it identifies intent, checks relevant constraints, explains the proposed action, and asks for confirmation when the action could have meaningful consequences.
Core interaction
- Natural-language household request
- Deterministic risk classification
- Visible proposed action plan
- Explicit confirmation gate for consequential actions
- Explainable audit trail showing what was proposed, approved, or blocked
Why it matters
Agentic assistants become substantially more useful when they can act, but actions also increase the cost of mistakes. Aegis Home explores an interaction model where convenience and user control reinforce each other: low-risk actions remain fast, while consequential actions become explicit and explainable.
Alexa+ track
The project uses the hackathon's permitted simulated Alexa+ path: a web experience demonstrating an Alexa+-style agent interaction. The simulation source is published in the public GitHub repository branch and the demo is designed around the same working action-policy flow.
Open Source Mini Challenge
The work was created during the hackathon window on a dedicated public branch, with an MIT-licensed repository, tests, setup instructions, and a draft pull request documenting the contribution.
Reproducibility
The repository contains the action-policy engine, runnable demo, deterministic policy tests, and CI workflow. No paid API or proprietary runtime is required for the policy demo.
