Inspiration
AdXR unveils the possibilities of advertising in XR. When people think of ads today, they often picture those intrusive 'ad walls' in mobile games or 'ad dams' on steaming. However, advertising was once artistic, cool, fun, and sexy. XR offers a chance to rejuvenate advertising, creating a new renaissance for a fresh generation of consumers. AdXR in Metaverse and Spatial platforms can do more than just promote products and services; it can transform into engaging content through games, experiences, and simulations, forging meaningful connections between companies and their customers.
What it does
I've developed two immersive experiences that demonstrate how advertising can experience a renaissance, returning to its creative roots. Using an attached digital watch, you can explore each experience. One showcases a new soda flavor in a fun, interactive Soda Bubble journey. The other features a shoe company launching their 'Stumpers' brand, where you wear the 'Stumpers' as a giant and stomp through the city, crushing cars in your path.
How we built it
By incorporating assets from Poly Pizza into ShapesXR, I successfully planned each experience. Additional effects were enhanced using the Logitech Ink MX.
Challenges we ran into
Learning a new platform comes with its share of challenges, which we faced numerous times. However, the tutorial videos made it easy to grasp. One of the biggest challenges was making the soda bottle burst bubbles and creating the sensation of being a giant. Understanding the 'core' elements simplified the process. For example, the bottle was the core, and positioning it correctly ensured it burst bubbles effectively, with the bubbles falling to announce the new flavor. In the Stumper experience, the viewpoint was the core. We had to ensure the city moved towards the viewer to create the desired effect.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I learned to use a new platform, ShapesXR, which is fantastic prototype software for 3D and XR design. Additionally, I utilized the Logitech Ink MX for various effects, such as the soda bursting and fire from crushed vehicles, among others. Although drawing isn't my strong suit, using the Ink MX significantly helped enhance the experience.

What's next for AdXR
I aim to expand this concept within game engines and hope to be approached by various Spatial or Metaverse platforms to further explore and develop it.
