Inspiration

Getting an insiders' view in an industry or company would be very helpful in landing our dream job. When talking to insiders, we could gain a range of information from necessary skillsets for the job, expectations to company culture.

However, not everyone has the resources or opportunity to get in touch with insiders in an industry/ company.

Inspired by "things I wish I knew when I started my career in ___", I would like to build a web app to gather career advice across industries.

What it does

A web app collecting career advice and presenting them in categories.

  • Users can login/ register

  • Users can input their career advice

  • Users can browse advice by category

How I built it

Front-end development using html, css and javascript

Authentication using Firebase

Challenges I ran into

As a beginner in web development, I don't have much experience with html and css, and I am entirely new to javascript and firebase. I spent a lot of time learning the basics and debugging.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I completed the front-end development of the app.

What I learned

I learnt a lot about web development using javascript and firebase.
