Inspiration
As students, we found a common challenge in the process of course registration. It's time-consuming to develop a schedule, research professors, and enroll in courses -- students prefer a more convenient process.
What it does
Considering a student's course history, remaining courses, academic interests, and schedule preferences, this program develops an ideal schedule for students, complete with a display of the professor's RateMyProfessor reviews and links to their respective pages.
How we built it
React, CSS, AWS Lambda, AWS Bedrocks
Challenges we ran into
Getting familiar with the entire AWS system, connecting Lambda to both S3 and AWS Bedrocks.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Linking Lambda to S3 and successfully generating output. Using Bedrock to generate the ideal course selection based on the data.
What we learned
Familiarity with AWS systems including S3, IAM, Lambda, Bedrock, and Amazon API and how to integrate it into our full stack development. React components and structure.
What's next for Advise Me
Calculating results based off of the preferred schedule times; ex. if a student prefers morning vs. evening courses, and reflecting that in the output.
