Inspiration

This years theme inspired me to make a website about visiting multiple national parks. I also love hiking so it was fun trying to come up with ideas.

What it does

It doesn't do much as of now. There is no real functionality to it other that looking at a few example pictures of national parks.

How we built it

I built it using react framework with Next.js and tailwind css.

Challenges we ran into

This was a very big challenge to me since I've never used react nor have done much front-end development. Another huge challenge was trying to get an API working on the site. Next.js recently had an update which made it hard to find resources on how to use it. Therefore, most of my plan had to be scrapped by the end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am very proud of making my first website. Although it doesn't do anything, I'm glad that I got to learn a lot about react. I am also proud that it is somewhat responsive to the window size.

What we learned

Again learning how to use react was my goal for this project. I'm not an expert yet, but I'm definitely more confident when it comes to front end development.

What's next for Adventure

Hopefully I can get the API to work so I can implement the search function and display actual information about the national parks.
