Inspiration

Attending events alone can be scary, so we wanted to make a platform that allows people to meet others in their area by doing fun activities together! 🎉 This platform can also connect users going to the same place (for example, a concert) and coordinate for a more sustainable form of travel, like carpooling. 🚗✨

What it does

The user logs in using Google Authentication 🔐, and can create or explore events happening. They are able to filter by keywords they add in the search bar 🔍, and can indicate interest in events to receive more information 🤩. They can also create events to plan activities 📅. The user can access their profile to see what events they have created, and what events they have shown interest in ❤️. If the user no longer is interested in an event, they can click to remove interest from the event ❌

How we built it

We used HTML5 (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), as well as Google Firebase for the backend, and libraries like react-router-dom and sweetalert.

What's next for Adventure Buddies

We would like to implement tags for searching/filtering posts, chatting online and making friends, and a map view of the different activities available. 🏷️ 💬 🌍
