Inspiration

With the hackathon being a winter theme we based our idea on seasonal festivities.

What it does

Don’t know what kind of festive activities to do for the holidays? Adventr provides the planning and ideas for you and your friends! But wait there’s more, to follow the theme of the Christmas season, the ideas generated will be a mystery to each day, just like an advent calendar. As the user goes through each day of amazing and fun ideas to do with their friends, users can create their own advent calendars to send to their friends to enjoy as well.

When the user first interacts with the app, a series of prompts will be provided for them to answer. The app gathers the user's data to ensure that the activities being catered to them are correct and accurate to ensure that the user is satisfied with their surprise activity each day. The curated advent calendar will provide the user with festive activities chosen just for them that they can do each day of the holiday season.

Challenges we ran into

• Missing Dev
• Creating original idea that blended with the seasonal theme
• First experience doing a sprint design within 48 hours

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Although we weren’t able to code this project, we were proud to execute the prototype to at least showcase our intention and vision for what we want Adventr to be.

What we learned

From our research we learned:

• 69% of Americans stated that the thing they look forward to most during the holiday season is spending more time with friends and family.

• One of the top 3 answers of what Americans hate most about the holidays is that it is focused around commercialism

What's next for Adventr

Another feature we would like to add is User Content. Users would be able to add their own ideas and upload them to the platform and add these ideas to their advent calendars. We would love to build it out with a developer if the opportunity arises but as of right now there’s nothing planned for Adventr.
