Inspiration
We all have bought unneeded supplies for our classes and had a common frustration with the current organization of school supply lists. Sometimes schools don't even provide school supply lists in the first place. We felt unprepared for our classes and wished there was a better way to organize required school supplies.
What it does
Our Application allows for a more organized and simple way to find your required supplies and makes the shopping process a lot less tedious. Our program is targeted toward both students and teachers, with functionalities pertaining to both. Our application allows students to view their teachers’ lists using only their names. Teachers hold a variety of capabilities to edit, maintain, and view their own and other teachers’ lists. Such features include: adding teachers to allow them to access our app, viewing specific teacher’s lists, adding and deleting items from a list, all with the safety of a password-protected system.
How we built it
We coded it on Replit, and collaborated through every step of the process to code this simple but effective application.
Challenges we ran into
Replit would sometimes put our lists out of order and cut out essential text needed to understand our program. We also had to learn how to use databases, which had a bit of a learning curve, in order to store our data.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
All the members of our group are new to participating in hackathons, so we are proud of successfully creating a functional product within such a short amount of time.
What we learned
Because we are all new to hackathons, we learned a lot about collaborating on coding projects, and we're super excited to use this experience in future projects and hackathons!
What's next for Advaynced Panda's Project
If expanded to a web or mobile application, this project can become an impactful and convenient way to prevent a last-minute shopping trip and allow you to enter into the new school year with confidence knowing that you are fully prepared.
