Inspiration
After having issues in our classes regarding attendance update in ERP and no such relief. So we decided to create a real time attendance update system
What it does
It captures the feed from a web cam and marks the attendance for the students present in the frame. It continuously scans through each frame and updates the attendance into the database in real time.
How we built it
We build it in a form of a python project creating our own ML model. We plan to release both software and web/app for the same. Organizations can select from the options which suits them best.
Challenges we ran into
We were barely able to train our model to it's fullest. As our dataset was consisted of huge images 10k+. So my system's GPU crashed and burned out. So we tried to train our model on Google Colab
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We have created an affordable software which doesn't require any addition device purchase.

We learned a lot about project integration and how to train big ML models
What's next for Advanced Face Recognition Attendance System
We are going to make it a light weight app, website and a software which will be fully customized according to organizations and will provide the data in excle etc format
